Simple Act of Attention

How many times a day do you notice your breath and posture?

By placing attention on our breath and posture we can begin to experience a sense of openness, connection and presence…

Divine Self-Care

The beauty with a daily sacred practice is the invitation to pause. To hold a space for ourselves that is healing and empowering. Our sacred practice is a form of divine self-care.

The practice does not have to be long, complicated or an obligation. Your practice can be:
holding a mudra for a moment, flow through a few asanas, a restorative pose, a sweet yin yoga practice, deep breathing, a meditative walk, a prayer, dancing, a sun salutation...

Reflection Friday

"Movement is the movement of change. Movement is the medicine. Each of us has the power and responsibility to heal ourselves, to be our own medicine man or woman. Awakening our innate powers of being, loving, knowing, seeing and healing involves ongoing work at all levels and in all dimensions of ourselves."
wise and beautiful words by Gabrielle Roth from her book Maps toEcstasy

What movements can you make today? What tools can you pull out from your medicine bag?

Reflection Friday

Take a moment to give yourself your full attention. Close your eyes. Become aware of your breath. Awaken to the sensations within your body and to the texture of your breath. Allow your breaths to deepen. Just be with it. Be gentle with your thoughts. Feel your body breathing.

As we learn to pay attention to our body, breath and inner landscape we awaken our ability to heal.

Awaken Your Heart

"Awake my dear,
be kind to your sleeping heart.
Take it out into the vast fields of Light
and let it Breathe." -Hafiz

Be present to your heart.
Give it gentle loving attention.
Breathe deeply and feel the sacred space inside of you.

Enjoy a heart opening sequence to open, awaken and harmonize your heart (anahata) chakra.

Yoga Musings

A new favorite mudra: Pran Mudra ~ Life Mudra
Place the tip of your thumb, ring finger and little finger together on both hands.  Extend the other fingers. This mudra activates our root chakra, increases our vitality and reduces fatigue. It also strengthens our self-confidence and gives us the courage we need when starting something new.
When practicing this mudra let your breathing become slow, steady and deep. Visualize yourself being rooted into the earth, you are stable and calm.

Awakening

Awaken. "Awaken to another possibility." ~Elena Brower

Awaken to your highest self...
Awaken to new possibilities...
Become deeply aware of your intuition...
Awaken your inner fierceness, or maybe to a softer and
more gentle way of being toward yourself...
Awaken to a more nourishing path...
What kind of awakening are you ready to step into?

New Beginnings

Happy New Year!

What are you ready to leave behind and let go of? What do you wish to create more room for? How do you want to feel? Carve out some time for reflection and dreaming…
